Entry #7 Thoughts about Fresh

The main purpose of the movie Fresh was how different farming can be. We see that a wife and husband are abusing chickens by throwing them onto the floor meanwhile farmer Joel Salatin has a farm were chickens and other livestock roam freely. The intended audience, in my opinion, is the viewers. The director is trying to show us what's being put into our food and a way to change your lifestyle by eating natural free-ranged goods. The movie was very calm while still being very informative, it's not as serious and gruesome as some other food biopics. One of the most surprising things to me was how Will Allen managed to manage an urbanized farm in the middle of the city. He did not use any preservatives or any chemicals on his produce he was an all-natural guy. Another shocking scene for me was how the guy that was impaled by a hog needed to turn his whole life around because of the epiphany he had. He realized that his industrialized form of farming was dangerous and that he needed to scrap everything and start from scratch in a more natural environment. This film made me think about what's being put into my food and how unnatural some of the things I eat are. Luckily my family buys free-range eggs and meat which is good because I don't have to stress about what chemicals were in it. Americans need to seriously think about what industrialized farms are doing to animals and what they're doing to their produce. They are injecting animals with antibiotics and some it is still in our food. This is not okay whats so ever! Please think about where you buy your produce and how natural it actually is.
