Entry #6 Not The Villain

Let me start this off by saying...SHARPAY EVANS IS NOT THE VILLAIN. In High School Musical 1 we see Sharpay and her twin brother Ryan signing up for the school's winter musical. When auditions came around Ms. Darbus asked the people auditioning to prepare the song "What I've been looking for and most of the performances were god awful! However, when the icons Sharpay and Ryan step on stage for their audition they gave Ms. Darbus a show worthy performance. Sharpay was sure that she secured the role in the bag until Gabriella and Troy ruined her spotlight. Not only did Ms. Darbus call for final auditions, Troy and Gabriella had the nerve to beg her to audition. She left the auditorium, but heard Troy and Gabriella's performance and decided that callbacks need to be held between Sharpay and Ryan, and Troy and Gabriella. The director portrayed Sharpay as this mean girl that wanted everything to be her way which is semi true, but in the end, we see Sharpay having a blast with her classmates in the final scene, "We are all in this together."If she is this mean girl why she would be dancing and singing with the couple that stole her theater role?


Now this isn't the only movie where Sharpay was portrayed as the villain. In High School Musical 2 Sharpay enjoys her summer break at her family owned resort "Lava Springs." What she did not realize that all of her classmates got jobs at this resort and it completely ruined her summer vacation. Now Troy happened to be hired as well, which made Sharpay ecstatic because she wanted to steal him away from Gabriella. This might seem a little sketchy on her part, but Sharpay was really looking out for Troy's future. She talked her way to convince her dad to put in a good word for troy with the University Of Albuquerque Red Socks. And Gabriella still had the nerve to think Sharpay was ruining Troy's life... Sharpay is actually exposing Troy to opportunities for college meanwhile Gabriella is only thinking about her own future which is Stanford University. Sharpay was not as bad as the film made her out to be she is talented, caring and overall a good person. She even gave up her star dazzle award to her brother Ryan because she thought he deserved it more than her like The selfless legend she is.
